Finding your Passion
May 02, 2016

One of the constant themes of these newsletter (now approaching five years old) has been about developing the right kind of relationship with your emotions. That your emotions are essential and that you need to be able to use them in the service of a life that will work for you. To even put it in these terms is of course pure Human Givens.

But this does not necessarily mean being suspicious and cautious of strong emotions.

So sit quietly and find a passion. A strong feeling that links to a person who touches you, or a goal you could set or a memory of something wonderful you saw, heard or experienced?

by Sophia Yasmeen

It is worth understanding the difference between mind, intellect and deep rooted habits or memories. It creates the greatest illusion of all. The soul holds anger in its habits/memory from the past bad actions based on passion, emotion and desire. The mind and intellect make me believe that someone made me feel angry ,sad or frightened but it revealed my past. Or, the sweetness that seems to come from a loving relationship is due to sweetness held deep within the souls memories. It is the sweetness of being at one with the Supreme, held within the memory of the soul. The mind and intellect convince me that a person is so sweet , so loving , so kind and gentle, so wonderful. But the mind and intellect only work on a conscious level. The memory banks (feelings) tell a different story. When we say my mum is such a sweet, loving, gentle and kind person, it may well be true but I don't really know ,because I am only reading and monitoring those feelings that are stored within me. Another sibling could see the same mum as weak and fodder to be used in life. All the stories of "this one said this or this one did this" are all a big misunderstanding. Trying to read others without reading the self is not only a waste of time but I end up writing my own feelings due to this illusion. Things are not what they seem. Others only trigger my feelings they don't create them.

Sophia is a beautiful writer and I am happily sharing her work in my Feelbetter Newsletter.

best wishes
