Just jogging along
January 20, 2014

Fight or flight and pain or pleasure! How much of our daily experiences and reactions can be fitted into this double header of polar opposites? I’m not about to give you a definitive answer, but to invite you to look at the question with curiosity rather than dismissively.

My guess is that many will find this hard to do. “There must be more to life than this surely?" Well yes, but maybe not as much as we would like to think. That we jog along so much of the time, on auto pilot – responsive always to danger and threat but otherwise meandering along. And to where do we meander? Well towards pleasures unconsciously arising from memories that ease us and away from anything that remotely reminds us of past pain and suffering.

best wishes
