Learning how to Forget
February 20, 2017

One of my most sobering experiences of recent months followed from a trawl of my Google account – where I found search instructions and the like going back many years. These were long forgotten (at least I would have thought so) but there they were in black and white. The internet forgets nothing and I guess the same is true for so much of our past. Everything that we experience will have left some kind of footprint somewhere and this footprint will be having some kind of effect in our lives today. It is the sheer scale and size of our memory storage (and the of course the internet as well) that is so hard to comprehend.

So, can we ever forget anything? In a literal sense the answer may well be No. But in a broader sense, the answer is a resounding Yes – because we build on our past and create something new every time we recall to make better sense of the present.

A peaceful person never feel insecure. When being with the self is in harmony others are not relied on for a sense of security. Bathe the mind in the warm glow of serene best wishes like you would clean a baby, with such care and the mind will return that strength a 1000 fold. Let's not become a beggar of peace. Peace begins with the self and any external wars merely display the war going on within. The mind is the eternal friend that has been with the self eternally. When someone leaves a body and takes another it is the same mind that greets them when their awareness awakes. When we have better rapport with someone we think they are our eternal soul mates but it’s just that they are treating our mind better than the way we do.

Sophia is a beautiful writer and I am happily sharing her work in my Feelbetter Newsletter.
