Respectfully Yours
January 23, 2017

Respect is a word much used and abused and my guess is that this has long been the case – from the pronouncements of mafia bosses, to the demands of ancient kings and lords and all the way up to the identity politics of today.

So this is telling us something important – that we all require respect and perhaps we all are worthy of it. For without respect from those we ask it from, then so much of our life (and the emotional human needs that are so essential) can crumble and erode away.

How can we offer respect to those that we might not ordinarily do so? It is surely by giving them the time and consideration, when calm to understand where they have come from and why and as we do that to appreciate what it is in the story of our lives, that might be stopping us from doing that.

by Sophia Yasmeen

When life is unpleasant and I am under pressure, something tells me that there is nothing left but for me to be aware of 'this'. I find it a blessing just to be ' aware'. If I try to figure it all out with my conditioned mind I will not be liberated. I will repeatedly find myself in a peace less state. There is no wisdom in the critical mind. Wisdom does not fight. Wisdom is knowing things as they are.

On this beautiful day let us all see and accept things around us as they are, let us not kill or dismiss what doesn't fit our standard. Let us all put our critical mind at rest and just be 'Aware'

Sophia is a beautiful writer and I am happily sharing her work in my Feelbetter Newsletter.
