The Hindsight Fallacy
May 22, 2017

I have just come across this phrase – the hindsight fallacy. It is a beautifully elegant description for what is a human characteristic that we all share. It is that as we look back from where we have come, our life takes on a sense of inevitability. Looking back it is as if it was all so predictable.

But of course it was not at the time.

And how do you know that? It is because your future right now, though it will play out within certain broad boundaries is gloriously unpredictable and unknown.

So go for it.

Gone are the days when I was in the company of many yet lonely ....
Here I am now, alone with a feeling of solitary
    Reaching out for me
Right here.. in this poised moment, I meet myself
My salvation comes from this moment.
It alone is my rock, my fortress

It needs absolute stillness and exclusion of everything else, to realise that I am nothing but pure awareness

Sophia is a beautiful writer and I am happily sharing her work in my Feelbetter Newsletter.

best wishes
