In Defense of Walls
November 07, 2016

We live in an age where walls seem to be breaking down. Yet we are also seeing a reaction to that with powerful attempts to put these walls up again. That surely is one part of the explanation for the Brexit vote and the success of Donald Trump (whether he wins the Presidency or not). And then finally we have the reaction to that – a kind of superior incomprehension by the righteous.

But walls do have their place. We all must spend time in peace and quiet in order to process and embed and we must feel safe in order to do that. And then we need to practice and experiment and try things out – in order to find out what works best and what will suit us best. So walls are important – but then of course we must also have doors and gates which will open easily when we are ready.

    O daisy my white little princess sitting in a vase on my bedside;
    How you make me smile and remind me of my own beauty -
    When I wake up and open my eyes.
    Your love stays with me in my heart all day long -
    And in the afternoon when I look back, image of your togetherness remind me of my own strength and I carry on.
    At the end of the day when everything seems so dark and dense, you call me and say, 'come and rest your mind with me for a while - Your snow white soft petals remind me of my own power of purity - And in delight again I smile

Sophia is a beautiful writer and I am happily sharing her work in my Feelbetter Newsletter.
