We can suffer mentally and emotionally in ways that are truly devastating and debilitating – as bad as any physical problem. Yet even so, the help that many can expect from the “medical experts” is not good enough. These are the conclusions I have come to – mainly from my experience with many clients.
What do you think?- Am I right or not?
- What has worked for you and what has patently not worked?
- What can you share that will help someone who needs it?
- Do you need your voice to be heard – whether it is borne out frustration or to celebrate?
- What can professional healers learn and what can they teach - whether you are counsellors, clinicians, energy therapists, acupuncturists or whatever?
I am beginning this process off on the subject of Depression - as it is here that there seems to be so much ignorance and danger. Or maybe you think I am wrong, or simplifying too much!
Next Anxieties - which can appear in very different manifestations. How significant are these differences? Are there common ways to look at them all? What would you say?
Addictions and obsessions are part of all our lives to some degree as the pleasure motive and the need to protect what might be at risk can combine dangerously. Or am I simplifying too much?
What can we all learn and share to find happiness, resilience and balance – and emotional intelligence?
The more I investigate how mental problems are thought of and treated - especially by the experts, then the angrier I get. What is your experience and what do you think? Getting it off your Chest - is your opportunity to agree with me or disagree or just get angry (but please politely). There is as much space as you need - write a webpage, invite comments. Say what you think! |
